Deploying HullSurvivor

From inside the vessel

Roll HullSurvivor by hand, insert it through the breach, then pull it back against the outside of the hull with a piece of wire or cord attached to the trunion. The disk returns to its original shape and water pressure holds it tight against the breach, stopping or reducing the inward flow.

From outside the vessel

Place HullSurvivor over the hole. Water pressure holds the disk tight to the breach. It can be held tighter still by attaching wire or cord to the trunion and securing it to a support inside the vessel. No adhesive is required, though it may be used.

  • HullSurvivor is a temporary fix for an emergency situation. It is not guaranteed to stop all water leaks.
  • It is designed to be used alone or in conjunction with other emergency equipment, including bilge pumps, to significantly reduce the inflow of water after a hull breach.
  • HullSurvivor is not intended to be used to stop fuel leaks.
